The art of giving Tequila as a gift

Tequila is a symbol of Mexico. With a tequila tasting, you not only give something that tastes wonderful but also a gift that contributes to the appreciation of this historical drink that has been made for many centuries.

The production process of tequila begins with the blue agave plant. The heart of this plant, the so-called piña, is first harvested and then cooked in steam ovens. This releases inulin, a type of starch that can ultimately be converted into alcohol through fermentation. To do so, the piñas must first be crushed or pressed.

Each step in the production process contributes to the unique character of each tequila, especially the choice for barrel aging. Not every tequila is aged in wooden barrels. For example, if blanco or plata is on the label, then this tequila is bottled almost immediately after distillation. An extra añejo, on the other hand, ages for more than three years.
