Frysk Hynder - Port Cask 70cl

Us Heit, a distillery in the north of the Netherlands, was the first ever to release a Dutch whisky. Founded in 2002, their inaugural release came to market three years later, dubbed Frysk Hynder. The barley is grown in the surrounding province and malted at the distillery. Us Heit is a small craft distillery, producing some 10,000 bottles a year. Frysk Hynder is known for their maturation in exotic cask types, such as oak barrels that previously held Port wine, giving the whisky a pink or purple-ish hue.
